Details about our Medication Administration Services
Jaime Tafoya directs our medication department. Our trained resident assistants administer medications. Medications are administered using various administration systems, depending on the individuals insurance.
We primarily use Medicine On Time, a multi-dose unit packaging system. If a resident receives four prescriptions at 8 AM, the medications are all pre-packaged by a pharmacist prior to being delivered to The Granville. The Granville’s resident assistants check the medications against the physician’s orders and administer them to the resident. We also administer medications using bubble packaging and prescription bottles.
Jaime’s primary responsibilities are to order all medications, transcribe all new physicians’ orders, and, whenever necessary, communicate with the physicians’ offices, pharmacists, and family members regarding medications.
